Seo and Product Keywords

Do you want your products and services to show up first when people search for product specific keywords? The answer to that question is yes, of course you do! Even if you’re not in the digital marketing industry, there’s no reason why you can’t benefit from seo and get your website to rank higher on Google when people search for things like camera cases or protein powder. It all starts with understanding how keywords work and how they apply to your business. Here are some tips on how to use product specific keywords when developing your seo strategy.

Why product keyword optimization?

Most people say that product keywords are not important for SEO. In fact, some believe them to be secondary to user keyword optimization. While it is true that you need users in order to make money, if your product keyword optimization isn’t optimized it won’t matter how many users you have because your conversion rate will be low. This can lead to a loss of money as well as an increase in time spent on your site looking for what they came for. For example, if someone is looking for an iPhone 7 Plus battery case with built-in kickstand, they would naturally search a keyword related to one or all of those things: phone case, iPhone 7 Plus, kickstand or battery pack.

These are keywords that customers type into a search engine when they’re looking for your specific product. If you own an organic gardening store, then organic fertilizer is a perfect example of a product-specific keyword: if someone searches for it, he or she is likely looking to buy from you. Just be careful that your product-specific keywords are relevant to your business; if you run an organic gardening store and one of your main keywords is Apple Watch, your SEO might not be as effective as it could be. What really matters is relevance here, so make sure that what you’re optimizing for (garden supplies) matches what people are actually searching for (garden supplies).

How to use product keywords on Amazon

Amazon is undoubtedly one of your most important keyword sources. If you have an ecommerce store, you’re going to be getting a lot of traffic from people who are specifically searching for products related to yours. You want to make sure that your product pages get found by people doing these searches. To do so, use specific terms in your product title, description, bullets/features list and image file names (aka alt tags). For example: [product keywords] – Tech Coaster® – Tabletop Drink Holder – Collapsible Bar Gadget – 4 Pack (Purple) This exact approach is used by high-volume sellers with millions of dollars worth of sales per month on Amazon.
